Next to last postcard of the night, not a new country, but definitely one that is rare. I am happy to add this Turkmenistan postcard to my collection. Look at that view!
So often it seems, when I do received a postcard from Singapore, the image has nothing to do with Singapore itself.....nice view of the Eiffel Tower, but that's in France, hmm....
I have not done any fact checking here, but apparently Saint Petersburg is 4th in the world for most tram tracks at approximately 500 km. That's a lot of track and which three cities can beat 500 km?
I really like both of these postcards quite a lot. The first postcard shows a traditional funicular in Pau. I love funiculars and to add to the appeal, this one is free. :)
While technically not a country, Crimea is an autonomous republic within Ukraine and as such I choose to recognize its autonomy within my collection. ;)
So exciting, a new country and an especially "rare" one at that! So wonderful that I was compelled to include a picture of the stamps and postmark. (see bottom image)
**ok, fact check, I have received a postcard once before from Tunisia, but if I remember correctly, that one is blank and was sent from another country, so this one still wins!
This is one of my favorite postcards I've received from Taiwan. The sender tells me that this a surviving indigenous tribe in Taiwan and the men are performing what was traditionally a war dance, but now is performed annually in February.
